About us
Who we are
We are a team of change-makers who believe that every helping hand can raise a child and create a better future for them.
APAUSE is an independent, registered non-governmental, and not-for-profit youth organization based in Malawi. Its primary mission is to enhance life skills education for young people in Malawi by increasing school access and attendance, while also addressing the spread of HIV/AIDS and reducing substance abuse among youth. This is accomplished through capacity building for effective service delivery in comprehensive, inclusive relationship and sex education programs, the use of sports as a tool for development, and promoting respect for human rights for all individuals. Drawing on over thirty years of international health education research, APAUSE focuses on creating the greatest impact by supporting the most marginalized and underserved populations in society.

Our approach
Our Mission
To provide a unique program of inclusive relationships and sex education that benefits individual and community holistic health.
Our Vision
Apause envisions empowered young people who exercise their rights, recognise their responsibilities and achieve greater control in their relationships, resulting in better, longer lasting relationships and improved parenting life courses.
Goal
That girls and boys are more likely to have completed their education as a result of fewer unwanted pregnancy, less likelihood of early marriage and decreased prevalence of STIs, including HIV.
